June 23, 2022: Debuting July 14 and showing through September 3 at the Spruill Gallery is Progression, a group exhibition highlighting the journey of select artists who last exhibited at Spruill Gallery over a decade ago. In this summer invitational, Spruill Gallery proudly welcomes back six of these talented artists. This new collection of work emphasizes the transition of each artist, their Progression.

All featured artists were once participants in Spruill Gallery’s Emerging Artist series: Meg Aubrey, Erin McIntosh and Susan Ryles in 2009; Ashley Schick and J Glenn Taylor in 2011; and Kyungmin Park in 2012. With a variety of mediums including painting, collage, mixed media and ceramic sculpture, the Progression show follows the evolution and the finite perfection of each artist.

“To be able to show the work of an artist at various points in their career is such a privilege,” said Spruill Gallery Director, Jennifer Price. “I am so honored to be able to organize this show and let the community see the evolution of these artists over the course of the past decade or more.”

The opening reception for Progression is Thursday, July 14 from 6 – 9 p.m. An artists’ talk with select artists will take place on Saturday, August 13 at 2 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
