Peachtree Packaging & Display is excited to announce that four of its employees have completed Gwinnett Young Professionals’ 2021-2022 Journey Leadership Institute. Held September 2021 through May 2022, the intensive program helps young professionals develop and enhance their leadership skills, learn more about the area’s business community, and engage in their community’s future.

Gwinnett Young Professionals is a partner program of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. The 2021-2022 cohort included 44 professionals working in businesses, government and non-profit organizations in Gwinnett County. Peachtree’s employees included sales representatives Brett Byerly and Cody Pitts; Jacob Bucher, quality assurance coordinator; and Daniel Choi, shipping assistant.

“I am so appreciative that Peachtree Packaging & Display provides opportunities for growth like this,” said Byerly. “Working with and learning from this group was such a great experience. It is inspiring to look around and see the current and future leaders of Gwinnett County all in one place sharing ideas and working together.”

The Journey Leadership Institute began in September 2021 with a combination of training on core values, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness. After developing a deep understanding of self, the participants completed eight monthly topic-based workshops. The Journey workshop providers included InnerWill Leadership Institute, Gallup, Dale Carnegie, University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, ADJ Consultants, GiANT and The John Maxwell Company.

“GYP is a community, championing young professionals to further engage, enhance, and develop as they embark on their professional journey,” said Jasmine Billings, Board Chair of Gwinnett Young Professionals. “It is powerful to see young professionals, from diverse backgrounds, use Journey as a resource to not only grow internally but pour into others as Journey Alumni members and Crew Leaders.”

Peachtree has a long tradition of working closely with the business community and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. Peachtree CEO Chad Wagner said, “We care deeply about leadership development and investing in our young employees. The Journey Leadership Institute is the perfect opportunity for young leaders to grow individually and collectively and work with other key players in our community.”
