Succeeding in business is all about making connections, and Kennesaw State’s Coles College of Business has launched a podcast to explore how prominent business leaders have used networking to succeed.

The Building Bold Connections podcast, launched Jan. 17, is a conversation with business leaders from a range of professions exploring the creative ways they solve professional challenges and succeed in their respective fields. Guests discuss how they got started, their career path, daily work and what first inspired them in their endeavors.

Tyra Burton, a senior lecturer of marketing in Coles College and interviewer with podcasting experience, hosts the show and said each guest has a unique determination for pushing boundaries in their professional life. Burton said she hopes students will tune in and realize that “the impossible is possible through connections.”

“Our guests demonstrate that connections matter, whether learning from someone else or mentoring another - we can make a difference,” Burton said. “I hope listeners are inspired to reach out to others to make their own bold connections.”

The podcast’s first guest is Chase York, group sales account executive for the Atlanta Falcons, who shares his career journey with listeners. Other scheduled guests include Audrey Hall, chief product officer of Brightwell; H. Walker, diversity, equity and inclusion officer for Boys and Girls Clubs of America; and Atlanta business executive and college namesake Michael Coles.

Episodes are released biweekly and are available on YouTube, PodBean, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

The podcast is a collaboration between Coles faculty and the Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business program (MEBUS). Episodes are filmed in the MEBUS house, and students operate the cameras, microphones and recording equipment.
