New Atlanta Restaurant Pachengo's Opens Today

Wednesday, August 16th, 2023

Pachengo’s, the latest concept from Pietro Gianni and Stephen Peterson of popular Italian restaurants YEPPA&co Bar e Ristorante, Storico Fresco, Forza Storico, and newly-opened Dryver Bar, will open on Wednesday, August 16, at 3065 Peachtree Road NE in the former Storico Vino space at Buckhead Village. Inspired by many of the culinary staff members’ heritage, the casual Mexican taqueria will offer lunch and dinner service daily.

“Most of our cooks and bartenders are from Central and South American, so Pachengo’s is a way to get them involved and give our longtime staff members the opportunity to share the food they know and love,” says Gianni. “We’re offering all-day dining that is full service but less formal than our other restaurants, which we felt would be attractive to nearby offices and Buckhead Village shoppers.”

The menu at Pachengo’s is helmed by Mexico City-born chefs Omar and Guadalupe Santamaria. The husband and wife created everything from small plates for sharing to tacos and tostadas, plus platos fuertes (larger plates). Examples of the restaurant’s authentic Mexican dishes include queso con chorizo, enchiladas suizas, mole, and a selection of different avocado dips. The menu also will feature a rotating “family meal” allowing the chefs to experiment and offer a playful riff on the traditional staff-only meal. In the coming months, Pachengo’s will add breakfast dishes such as huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, and chilaquiles on the weekends.

To complement the menu, beverage director Jose Pereiro has crafted a selection of margaritas, palomas, and mezcalitas plus horchata and aqua frescas for non-alcoholic options. An extensive tequila selection will be available as well as a small selection of South American wine and beer.

Gianni and Peterson completely redesigned the former Storico Vino space to create a clean look for Pachengo’s that includes more double-sided countertop seating and a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The addition of Mexican tile, light-washed wood, new furniture, and light fixtures and a reconstructed bar with extra seats allow for a more casual, communal vibe. Pachengo’s seats 110 guests between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

“The restaurant is simple and reflective of the fun and slower-paced lifestyle in Mexico,” says Gianni.

Pachengo’s does not accept reservations, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The restaurant is open for dinner only from 5-10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16 through Saturday, August 19. The restaurant will be closed Sunday, August 20 and then reopen on Monday, August 21 for lunch and dinner, seven days a week from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Pachengo’s is located at 3065 Peachtree Road NE, Suite B210 in Buckhead Village. Self-parking is available in the Buckhead Village garage with two hours validation, and valet parking also is offered in the center. To keep up with the latest updates, follow along on Instagram.
