WHAT: Can’t make it to Germany for Oktoberfest this year? Don’t fret, as Halcyon’s annual Ocktoberfest will bring authentic German traditions straight to Alpharetta. The free Oktoberfest will be held on Sept. 30 in the middle of Munich’s annual event, which runs from Sept. 16 to Oct. 3.

Presented by Mercedes-Benz Experience Center by RBM of Alpharetta, Halcyon’s Oktoberfest will kick off with a Concours d’Elegance Classic Mercedes car show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy traditional German foods, such as brats, schnitzel and hot pretzels from Halcyon restaurants, with picnic-style seating on the Green. Wash down the delicious bites with beer, beer and more beer while listening and dancing to a live 8-piece German polka band, The Wurstbrats. Challenge yourself to "Das Boot," a liter glass boot filled with German beer that you'll find at Butcher & Brew. New this year will be a keg rolling contest, stein holding competition, along with other games and giveaways. A free pretzel necklace-making station sponsored by Renasant Bank will also be available to wear and take home. 

Free parking is available in the parking deck. Neighbors are encouraged to drink responsibly and use rideshare apps or the Big Creek Greenway.
