Westside Paper Celebrating Atlanta's Local Talent with Grand Opening on Saturday, September 30th

Wednesday, September 20th, 2023

Westside Paper, the adaptive reuse of one of the last large historical warehouses in West Midtown, is set to usher in a new era for the neighborhood.

With its grand opening scheduled for Saturday, September 30th, this iconic location will celebrate the rich tapestry of Atlanta's local talent while showcasing a vibrant mix of businesses that are breathing new life into the formerly industrial space.

"We are thrilled to announce retail openings in Westside Paper, where local talent and creativity converge to deliver a new and unique shopping and dining experience," said Chris Faussemagne, Managing Partner, Westbridge. "The revitalization of this historical campus demonstrates a commitment to preserving Atlanta's character while embracing its ever-evolving spirit."

Opening festivities promise to be a memorable experience for the entire family, with food from Elsewhere Brewing, Boxcar Betty’s, El Santo Gallo, King of Pops and more. The day-long celebration will include music, exciting games, inflatables for the kids and the opening of covered pickleball courts for sports enthusiasts. The festivities begin at noon and continue until 7 p.m.

Anchoring the historic mixed-use campus at 950 West Marietta Street is Elsewhere Brewing. Atlanta owners and operators Sara and Sam Kazmer launched the popular brewery after spending 18 months traveling around the world learning about beer. Their takeaways were not only how to craft great beer, but the importance of crafting relationships with good people in welcoming spaces.

Westside Paper will be home to the second location of Pancake Social, the Ponce City Market restaurant and coffeehouse. Co-founded by Dan Jacobson (formerly of Chick-Fil-A), entrepreneur Steven Chan (Tin Drum) and Tony Riffel, it features high-quality breakfast items, sandwiches, healthy bowls, fresh juices, specialty coffees and brunch cocktails.

One of the standout features is the return of exceptional coffee to the neighborhood. Riffel founded Octane Coffee on the Westside in 2003. He is bringing his expertise back to the market after selling the beloved coffee brand in 2017.

Westside Paper is proud to invite Atlanta to experience the latest fare from several note-worthy chefs including Bar Diver, an Asian seafood restaurant from Richard Tang. The restaurant's menu features Chinese-Vietnamese seafood small plates. Acclaimed chef Santiago Gomez, known for his successful Atlanta restaurant Palo Santo, has opened El Santo Gallo, a traditional street taqueria offering Mexican fare and a world-class outdoor margarita bar.

Charleston-based gourmet fried chicken sandwich purveyor Boxcar Betty’s has established an Atlanta presence at Westside Paper. Roth Scott and Ian MacBryde started the award-winning concept by focusing on locally sourced ingredients, attentive customer service and a unique space.

Atlanta-based favorite King of Pops is expanding its bar concept at Westside Paper featuring slush-tails, pop-tails and soft serve in addition to its famous popsicles.

Ancestral Bottle Shop + Market, the brainchild of Grant Park restaurant Patria owner Roxana Aguirre, showcases family-owned, micro-batch, single-village Mexican spirits offering a unique and curated selection to enthusiasts.

Westside Paper is on the future Atlanta BeltLine connector trail called “The Spur” which is scheduled to start construction early next year. Located across from the King Plow Arts Center and adjacent to Puritan Mill, it is within walking distance of the Howell Mill Road commercial district and easily bikeable from Georgia Tech, Midtown and other in-town destinations.

The adaptive reuse of the industrial campus is a unique blend of historical charm with contemporary elements, making it the perfect embodiment of Atlanta's dynamic cultural identity.
