Buckhead Village Celebrates Atlanta Art Week with Art Exhibitions and More on October 7

In celebration of Atlanta Art Week (taking place October 2-8), Buckhead Village announces a bold line-up of colorful events with the purpose of uniting and celebrating Atlanta’s dynamic community of galleries, artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts. Part of a continued effort to amplify Atlanta’s diverse art scene, Buckhead Village will kick off festivities with a “Culture in Motion” Gallery Stroll and Concert for visitors to enjoy:
 
  • “Culture in Motion” Gallery Stroll, Oct. 7, 2-7pm Open to the public, the Stroll will feature the following specials and happenings from galleries and retailers from 2-7pm. Plus, visitors can enjoy music from a live DJ and bouquets from the Mater Day Flower Truck. 
 
  • alice + olivia will offer a denim embroidery gift with purchase of $500+ during store hours.
 
  • ATL Girl Gang Members Mart Pop-Up from noon-6pm will feature a market spotlighting female-owned, local businesses offering a one-stop-shop for one of a kind jewelry, art, clothing, candles, home decor, and other inspired gifts.
 
  • Bella Cucina will offer sips, shopping, and art in motion as artist & owner Alisa Barry paints custom Japanese ink pieces live onsite from 2-6pm. Limited numbered works will be available for purchase.
 
  • B.M. Franklin & Co. will host a mixer from 2-7pm and fashion show beginning at 5pm in honor of Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, featuring a Hip-Hop 50 capsule collection on the runway, as well as a live DJ and drinks for guests.
 
  • Brown & Co. will host a truck show during store hours with Phillips House, fine jewelry designers with motion-infused everyday pieces to celebrate magical moments.
 
  • Buckhead Art & Co. will serve up live music, live painting, and a complimentary wine bar during store hours.
 
  • Don Purcell will have champagne for visitors to enjoy while viewing a new installation of New York-based artist Ashley Longshore’s paintings, a new fall collection from abm.ceramics and Hazy Mae ceramics during store hours.
 
 
 
  • Impossible Currency will offer guests a sneak peek at various finished pieces as well as some work in progress, plus light bites and champagne during store hours.
 
  • Italian Luxury Interiors invites guests to a meet and greet with artist Parish Kohanim beginning at 3:30pm, along with a 15-minute, behind-the-scenes presentation of his art work and collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. 
 
  • Lisa Soltis, mixed media artist and founder of L.A.S. Collective, will be live painting outside The Veranda (across from Le Bilboquet) from 2-7pm.
 
  • “Culture in Motion: The Jazz of a Tribe Called Quest” Concert, Oct. 7, 7-9pm The Gallery Stroll will be followed by an interactive and soulful “We Got The Jazz: The Jazz of a Tribe Called Quest'' concert featuring actor and musician Malcolm-Jamal Warner and musician Dashill Smith from 7-9pm. Taking place at the corner of Peachtree & Buckhead Avenue, this sonically pleasing musical exploration of jazz will dive into the iconic hits of the influential American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest plus jazz samples that inspired their catalog. Tickets are available here for $25.
 
Throughout the week, shoppers, diners, and visitors will also have the opportunity to stop by The Veranda to check out the property’s latest mural and installation reveal from mixed media artist and founder of L.A.S. Collective, Lisa Soltis. Newly debuted, the install features a towering 13-foot mural paired with an oversized, suspended sculpture creating a tactile and immersive experience aimed to dismantle society’s perception of how to view art with its purposeful combination of material elements, new age techniques, and playful movement.
