The Pilot travel center in Hardeeville, South Carolina is hosting a celebratory event on October 11, 2023, to mark the completion of the store’s remodel. The festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. ET and include local community members, performances by a local school’s band team and cheerleaders, giveaways, games, prizes, light refreshments and a check presentation to the local school district. The $20,000 donation to the Jasper County School District will help support S.T.E.M. education

The remodel is part of Pilot Company’s nationwide initiative, called New Horizons, to invest $1 billion in remodeling its stores to upgrade the experience for team members and guests, and prepare for the future of travel.

“Our team works hard to make these remodels happen, and it’s a moment of pride for them to celebrate with their family, friends, communities and guests,” said Allison Cornish, vice president of store modernization at Pilot Company.

 As part of the store’s complete overhaul from curb to counter, the Pilot travel center located at 15976 Whyte Hardee Blvd. now features:

• Refreshed and expanded restrooms and showers

• Three new self-checkouts for a more convenient guest experience

• New made-in-house food offerings, including homestyle meal options

• Pilot’s premium coffees, including bean-to-cup selections and cold brew

• Updated laundry facilities

• A new team member breakroom

• A remodeled Taco Bell

• A remodeled Subway
