The Providence Group Receives Community of the Year for its Millcroft Neighborhood

At the 43rd annual OBIE Award ceremony hosted by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, The Providence Group, the premier developer and homebuilder of award-winning neighborhoods throughout Atlanta, won a total of seven OBIEs. They were awarded five Gold and two Silver OBIE awards, including Mixed Use Community of the Year and Best Community Service Project for its Millcroft neighborhood and the 2023 St. Jude Dream Home. This is the seventh Community of the Year award win for The Providence Group.

The OBIE Awards are the premier awards in Atlanta’s home construction industry, celebrating commitment to innovation in new home building, remodeling, sales and marketing.

The gold OBIE Awards received by The Providence Group included: 

  • Millcroft, a mixed-use neighborhood in Buford, developed in partnership with The Worthing Company, won a Gold OBIE for Community of the Year- Mixed Use, as well as Gold OBIE for Best Amenity Package (499 Units and Under).  The family-friendly amenities at Millcroft include a resort style swimming pool with oversized sun decks, a state of the art fitness center, large custom pavilion, stone fireplace, outdoor grilling and catering kitchen and numerous green spaces and pocket parks with community firepits. 

  • The 2023 Jude Dream House in Millcroft won a Gold OBIE for Best Community Service Project. This was the first ever St. Jude Dream Home built in Atlanta. The Dream Home was a Kincaid plan with 2,470 square-feet with four bedrooms and three baths located in the gated, master-planned Millcroft community. The project raised over $1.5 million for the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 

  • The Madylin at Idylwilde won a Gold OBIE for Best Building Design – Detached Model $500,000 to $599,999. Idylwilde won an OBIE in 2022 as the Detached Community of the Year for its elevated design and stunning execution. The Madylin is a spacious home design featuring the primary bedroom on the main level. The community also features a beautiful clubhouse with a catering kitchen and yoga studio, a large resort style pool with fire-pit, pickleball courts, community gardens and tranquil walking trails through wooded wetland areas.

 

  • The Baldwin at Waterside won a Gold OBIE for Best Building Design – Attached Model $500,000 to $599,999. The Baldwin is a spacious two bedroom condominium with private garage all on one level. Waterside is situated along the shores of the Chattahoochee River, and provides multiple housing options that promote inter-generational living, setting the standard for those looking for a true age-in-place community.

 

The Providence Group also received two silver OBIE Awards for the Beaufort at Idylwilde (single-family detached $600-$699K) and the Benton I at Ecco Park (single-family attached $600-$699).
