The Rotary Club of North Gwinnett will host its 7th Annual Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser at the Sugarloaf Mills Dave & Busters on October 10, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. The event is one of two major fundraisers for the Rotary Club.

Normally held in January/February of each year, this years event will have a Halloween theme. Called BOOwl-a-Thon 2023, bowling teams are encouraged to wear costumes as they raise funds to benefit Special Kneads and Treats, Inc. The BOOwl-a-Thon consists of employees from local companies and other Rotary Clubs along with their family and friends. Bowling teams from Annandale Village, Happy Feat and Special Kneads and Treats will also be participating.

This years BOOwl-a-Thon is a great event for youth and adults to participate in and bowl for Special Kneads and Treats, said lead organizer Jason Chandler with the Rotary Club of North Gwinnett. You do not have to be a member of the Rotary Club to participate in this event. It is a fun time for all ages!

The mission of Special Kneads and Treats, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is to ensure that any child in our community, that has a birthday whose family cannot afford a birthday cake, receives one free. They work primarily with local food cooperative ministries, Foster Care and DFCS to get the cakes into the hands of those in need. One of their major programs is connecting individuals with disabilities to a rewarding profession while providing valuable work experience and training. A focus on special needs adults receiving self-confidence, a sense of value and the opportunity to enjoy success and socialization is at the core of Special Kneads and Treats.

Chartered in June 1994, the Rotary Club of North Gwinnett fosters fellowship among its members while working to make a difference in the local and worldwide communities.
