Wednesday, November 1st, 2023

Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest grassroots advocacy group, today announced the elevation of Tony West to state director of its Georgia state chapter.

West most recently served AFP as deputy state director and chief lobbyist. He joined AFP in 2015 as the Georgia State chapter’s director of grassroots operations. Before joining AFP, West was a policy analyst at the Georgia Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) under Governor Nathan Deal. A life-long Georgian, West graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s in political science and Georgia State University with a master’s in public policy.

West gave the following statement after the announcement:

“I’m so excited to continue to work on advancing AFP’s mission in Georgia as the chapter’s state director. This is an incredible team with an equally incredible opportunity to advance the idea that we can reignite the American Dream in the Peach State.

“I’m humbled to be a part of continuing its advancement, especially with the progress we hope to see in expanding educational opportunity and updating health care regulations to make it easier for health care providers to care for more patients across the state.”
