Enjoy the Holidays with a Trip Through MARTA Land

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and its Art in Transit program, Artbound invite you to celebrate the holidays with a trip through MARTALand.  

The season kicks off with our first MARTALand Holiday Market on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.at West End Station. The event features live music, MARTA swag giveaways, the unveiling of our holiday bus, and market vendors Lilit, Sincerely Fearless, and Burinyuy, among others. 

“Our Holiday Market is a celebration of community, and we look forward to seeing everyone at this festive occasion. I will be there to wish our customers a happy holiday season, and I’ll be joined by other MARTA employees who you won’t be able miss in their brand-new MARTA ugly sweaters,” said MARTA General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood.   

Our annual holiday Customer Appreciation event on Dec.14 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Five Points Station will have a special appearance by Santa, a holiday photo booth, and giveaways. Also,beginning at 3 p.m. Ballethnic Dance Company will perform scenes from their signature production, the Urban Nutcracker. Ballethnic Dance Company is a professional ballet company that creates visibility for Black and Brown dancers who put on performances that mix ballet with African dance concepts.  

This year’s trip through MARTALand also includes free rides on the MARTA holiday buses, carolers, Breeze card giveaways, and seasonal music. 

Nov. 15 - Dec. 31: Free rides on the MARTA holiday buses 

Enjoy a free ride on one of our custom holiday buses. Keep your eye out for one in your neighborhood! 

Nov. 29: A Christmas Carol comes to MARTA  

4 p.m. - New this holiday season, a special partnership with Alliance Theater, where the cast of a Christmas Carol will ride the train from North Springs Station to Arts Center Station while singing songs from the show, providing a truly immersive holiday experience!

Dec.8 & 15: Songs on the Streetcar 

Noon - 3 p.m.- Hop on the Atlanta Streetcar and listen to holiday music performed by Alex Gordan as you ride through Downtown Atlanta. 

Dec. 19 - 21: MARTA elves bearing gifts 

MARTA elves will journey across our service area spreading holiday cheer and handing out 1,200 Breeze cards to bus riders.  

Dec. 5 - 21: Holiday Customer Celebrations   

Join us for customer appreciation celebrations with music from the Tinseltones happening from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at our various stations listed below.

4 p.m. - 6 p.m.– Enjoy a festive performance from the groundbreaking Full Radius Dance Company. Full Radius Dance Company is a professional modern dance company featuring dancers with and without physical disabilities, making this event a celebration of inclusivity and artistic excellence.
