The City of College Park is excited to announce the implementation of new online permitting and licensing programs to provide a time-saving, paperless system for those looking to do business in the city. College Park’s Building and Property Sustainability Department recently completed the launch of SagesGov, an online permitting, code enforcement, and business license software program that offers increased functionality and streamlined services, resulting in a quicker and more efficient permitting process for both users and city staff. Phase 1 of the project which includes the launch of online permitting, plan review, inspections and code enforcement started on December 4, with Phase 2 which includes the online occupational tax/business licensing starting on January 1, 2024.

Residents, contractors, and design professionals will now enjoy a wide array of upgrades that make it even easier to do business with the city, such as online submissions of application forms, comprehensive permit tracking, online payment, real-time communication of inspection results, and improved inspector customer service. From major development permits to home renovations, this time-saving software keeps users informed throughout the process by sending automated emails for submittals, payments, required documents, plan review status, building and code inspection results, and various project progress updates. Inspectors also will see benefits by using the new app, as it will allow them to submit all forms, photos, and comments directly to city officials from job sites or their offices.

The City of College Park will provide quarterly virtual training webinars to provide step-by-step instructions on how to utilize the system and to answer customers’ questions.
