Lime Announces Antwan Lang as Government Affairs Lead for the Southeast of the United States

Lime- the world’s largest shared electric vehicle company is proud to announce Antwan Lang as Sr. Manager of Government Affairs for the Southeast of the United States. Formerly Director of Government and Community Affairs for Atlanta Technical College, Lang has been a trusted and forward-thinking leader in local, state, and federal government for over a decade. In his newly appointed role, Lang will lead Limes southeastern region encompassing Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi, at a time of transformational growth, significant expansion, and record ridership.

As the governmental affairs lead in the southeast for Lime, Lang will be responsible for strategic leadership of the companies’ southeastern markets including major cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Orlando, Tampa, Birmingham, and many others. He will oversee all communication with municipal leaders and city administrators while maintaining a stable regional presence, reinforcing Limes corporate reputation as the global leader in shared electric vehicles. Lang’s efforts will support Limes mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free.

Lang will serve as a regional ambassador to the southeast, championing Limes initiatives such as LIME HERO. Lime Hero is Lime’s community empowerment program that allows riders to round up the cost of their trips to support an organization in their city. Through the Lime Hero program Lime has; Partnered with over 65 organizations in over 90 cities globally; Hit over 118,000 Lime Hero Riders; Helped raise over $450,000; and exceeded over 1 million Lime Hero trips. Included in his community and economic development purview are the companies’ collaborative economic initiatives known as LIME ACCESS, which ensures cost will never be a barrier to Lime’s service. Through Lime Access, riders who qualify receive discounts on every ride.

In his new role, Lang will lead Lime’s southeastern markets during a significant phase of growth and expansion. Lime is now in its 7th year since its founding in 2017. This growth includes surpassing over 500 million rides on its vehicles traveling more than 600 million miles, or nearly one billion kilometers in more than 300 cities and more than 30 countries on five continents. Lime achieved a fully profitable year in 2022 with $466M in annual revenue and 33 percent annual growth. Lime also announced its launch of a new Gen4 Seated Scooter. The new design allows for added comfort and, when paired with the new storage compartment, will provide for more use cases, encouraging more people to consider Lime to fit their needs. The Gen4 Seated aims to empower riders to navigate their day-to-day with ease, welcoming a wider audience to micro mobility via a more approachable and comfortable ride.

Prior to joining Lime, Lang has held a distinguished 15-year career holding several positions with Atlanta Technical College, Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Georgia House Senate, Georgia House of Representatives, and the United States Congress. A native of Savannah, Ga and Chatham County, Lang became the youngest elected official in the county’s history, serving on the Chatham County Board of Elections. With a community focus, Lang served on the Savannah Court Appointed Special Advocates Board of directors and was the youngest person to be appointed to a city commission, having been appointed to the Savannah Cultural Affairs Commission. Lang serves proudly in the Washington D.C. Army National Guard as a commissioned officer assigned to the 372nd Military Police Battalion. Lang received his Army commission from Georgia State University and is a graduate of Savannah State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science and Master of Public Administration. He is a member of the 100 Black Men of America, Prince Hall Mason, and Founder and Board chair of the Atlanta-Fulton Foundation Inc. He further serves on the Thomas W. Dortch Foundation Board of Directors and is a graduate of New Leaders Council of Augusta, GA.
