Atlanta, Georgia has the HIGHEST Demand for Lawyers Across the Nation, New Data Reveals

Thursday, January 18th, 2024

A brand-new study conducted by Florida personal injury lawyers Anidjar & Levine reveals which US cities are most likely to search for a lawyer.

The research conducted by the Anidjar & Levine team analyzed the 150 most populous cities across the US based on the number of times each city Googles search terms related to lawyers.

The experts used 190 relevant search terms in the study, including “lawyer”, “best auto accident attorney”, “personal injury lawyer”, “rocket lawyer”, “immigration attorney”, “medical malpractice lawyer”, “how much do lawyer”, “car accident attorney”, and “motorcycle accident lawyer”.

The number of searches for each term was then added up to give a total of searches for each city over the past 12 months. This was then compared to the population to calculate how many searches per 10,000 people.

Atlanta in Georgia ranks at number one, with an average of 26,912 searches every month, which equates to an average monthly search volume of 539 per 10,000 residents.

Atlanta’s top search terms in order are “car accident lawyer”, “Atlanta personal injury attorney”, and “rocket lawyer”

Ranking in second is Columbia, South Carolina. With a smaller population of 139,698, the city searches for lawyer related terms an average 6,227 times per month, which translates to an average 446 monthly searches per 10,000 people.

Columbia’s top search terms are “lawyer”, “car accident lawyer”, and “workers compensation attorney”.

In third place is Miami, Florida with a total of 19,783 lawyer-related searches each month, which works out at an average monthly search volume of 440 per 10,000 residents.

Some of Miami’s top search terms are “auto accident lawyer”, “employment lawyer” and “Immigration Lawyer.”

Taking fourth place in the rankings is Denver, Colorado. The city makes on average 29,062 lawyer searches per month, which is an average monthly search volume of 407 per 10,000 residents.

Some of Denver’s top search terms are “drug possession lawyer” and “auto accident attorney”, and “motorcycle accident lawyer”.

Scraping fifth position is Las Vegas, Nevada boasting a total 24,538 monthly lawyer-related searches months and an average monthly search volume of 374 per 10,000 residents.

Las Vegas’ top search terms are “gun crime lawyer” and “las vegas car accident lawyer”.

Placing bottom of the rankings is Wichita, Kansas with only 2,063 searches per month, which is an average 52 monthly searches per 10,000 residents.

A spokesperson for Anidjar & Levine has commented on the study findings:

“Atlanta is a major metropolitan area and the capital of Georgia, so it typically has a relatively high demand for legal services. These will often vary depending on several factors, including the overall economic climate, population growth, and the legal needs of individuals and businesses in the area.

“It is interesting that our data highlights ‘drug crime possession’ as one of the highest search terms. Denver, like the rest of Colorado, has experienced shifts in drug laws due to marijuana legalization for both medical and recreational use.

“Drug crimes in Denver, Colorado, encompass a range of offenses related to the possession, distribution, manufacturing, and trafficking of controlled substances.

“Meanwhile, ‘gun crime lawyer’ is one of the highest search terms in Las Vegas. Nevada has the 8th-highest rate of gun homicides and gun assaults in the US, and every year, an average of 159 people in Nevada die by gun homicides.

“Americans looking for a lawyer must consider several factors, whether you need legal representation for a specific case, ongoing legal matters, or general legal advice.

“Lawyers have different areas of expertise. For example, criminal defense, family law, personal injury, immigration, business law, etc. Therefore, knowing what type of lawyer you need will help you find the right professional.

“It’s important to work with an attorney who specializes in law that matches your specific legal needs. Therefore, hiring the right attorney can greatly impact the outcome of your case.”

Methodology

The team have analysed 150 populous cities as well as the top 3 most populous cities for each State.

Using Google Keyword Planner to reveal the volume of searches for each state over 12 months, the experts then worked out the average monthly search volumes.

This was then compared to the population to calculate how many searches per 10,000 people.
