2024 Collegiate Sports Roundtable Highlights the Changing Landscape of College Sports

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, April 15th, 2024

Keith Marshall, Co-Founder and CEO of Atlanta-based The Players’ Lounge is one of four distinguished panelists to participate in a collaborative discussion analyzing the current state of collegiate athletics from an industry-spanning panel of expertise.

High-profile high school and college-level athletes can now monetize their name, image, and likeness through sponsorships and endorsements. There are, however, many misconceptions and harsh realities behind the curtain of a changing landscape that is most unanimously coined the ‘wild-west.’ For an exponentially growing industry, there has never been more to protect.

The Players’ Lounge was founded to create a platform that allows student-athletes a sustainable avenue to participate in the multi-million-dollar media industry surrounding college sports. Since launching in 2022, TPL has worked with more than 300 student-athletes across eight major universities

Panelists include:

  • Richard Giller, Industry pioneer, partner and chair of the insurance recovery and counseling practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP

  • Keith Marshall, Former University of Georgia standout running back, co-founder of ‘The Player’s Lounge’

  • James Walker, Director of Business Management for Sports & Entertainment at Adeptus Partners, LLC

  • Barry Sloane, Newtek President, Chairman, and CEO (Newtek Business Services Corp. (Nasdaq: NEWT))

The event takes place virtually on Monday, April 22 at 4 pm EST. To view the webcast link, please click here. A post-event replay will be made available.
