Swift Currie Continues Atlanta Growth With Addition of Two Senior Attorneys and Five Associates

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, proudly announces the addition of six attorneys in its Atlanta office, including Melissa B.W. Rickert and Jon D. Stewart as senior attorneys, as well as new associates Monique R. Brown-Dixon, Abigail C.H. Finch, Paul Joseph Spann and Reed L. Wilkinson.

Rickert brings nearly 20 years of legal experience to the workers’ compensation team as a senior attorney. She focuses her practice on workers’ compensation defense claims for national and global clients, including client communications, defense analysis and litigation strategy, hearings, depositions and mediations. In addition to Georgia, she is also licensed in New York. Rickert earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.

Stewart joins the firm as a senior attorney with a practice focused on civil. Prior to his career in law, Stewart worked in the commercial lending department of Regions Financial Corporation. He is the former chairman of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. Stewart earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and North Georgia College and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Brown-Dixon brings varied experience to the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation team through her background in intellectual property and trademark infringement litigation and her public service as the former Assistant District Attorney of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, wherein she prosecuted over 300 matters concerning felonies and misdemeanors. During this time, Brown-Dixon was responsible for drafting all pleadings, including conducting motions hearings, pre-pound and tender discovery. She also conducted all legal research, reviewed cases, analyzed evidence and negotiated plea agreements. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. 

Finch joins the commercial litigation team as an associate, drawing on her background in a diverse array of legal subjects including property law, contract law and criminal law. Finch focuses her practice on representing national, regional and local corporations as well as individuals, in complex, multiparty litigation and class actions. Finch earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Spann joins as an associate with the firm’s litigation team. He has worked on a variety of litigation matters including negligence, intentional tort, negligent security, premises liability and product liability cases. He is experienced in drafting pleadings, motions and briefs for state trial courts, state appellate court, federal district courts and federal appellate courts, as well as achieving beneficial settlement agreements for clients. Spann earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia College and State University and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. 

Wilkinson joins as an associate with the firm’s litigation practice group, focusing his work on civil litigation issues such as automobile liability and premise liability. He also works on personal injury cases and defense matters for individuals, insurers, businesses and others. Wilkinson earned his undergraduate degree from Young Harris College and his law degree from Mercer University School of Law.
