In partnership with the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Georgia Power installed eight Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the midtown attraction’s SAGE parking garage this year.

These chargers are complimentary to use with parking entry and encourage drivers to charge their environmentally friendly vehicles while exploring the gardens and nearby Piedmont Park. The chargers are available on levels 2 and 5 of the parking deck, in the southwest corner. Currently, the garden is hosting “Alice’s Wonderland Reimagined” and “Cocktails in the Garden” six evenings a week.

There are more than 20,000 registered EV drivers in Georgia. Compared with driving cars that rely on gasoline, those who drive EVs see savings of greater than 70 percent on fuel costs.

Additionally, Georgia Power offers rebate programs to help business and residential customers reduce some of the costs associated with the installation of EV chargers. Business customers can receive as much a $500 in rebates back per charging unit, while residential EV owners can receive as much as $250 in rebates back per charging unit.
