DeKalb Chamber Announces the Election of New Chair on the Board of Directors

Friday, May 21st, 2021

The DeKalb Chamber Board of Directors is pleased to welcome the new Chair, Trevor Quander, to the 2021 Board of Directors.

Quander has served on the DeKalb Chamber Board of Directors since 2015 and has chaired the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee and Membership Committee in the past. He also sits on the Georgia Downtown Association Board (GDA) and is the vice chair and chair elect of the Regional Business Coalition Board (RBC).

“It is an honor to serve in this role and help our community recover from the unpresented impacts of the global pandemic and cultivate solutions to address racial equality and social justice,” Trevor Quander, manager of governmental and external affairs with Atlanta Gas Light. “The Dekalb Chamber is a phenomenal organization and I look forward to advocate on its behalf to help strengthen partnerships and development efforts that will guide DeKalb’s business community out of this dark void of economic uncertainty and back into the light of prosperity.”

Quander has a long career with Atlanta Gas Light, Georgia’s oldest corporation and a subsidiary of Southern Company Gas, including serving DeKalb County as a meter reader at the start of his career. He then became the manager of economic development where he worked for the former state commissioner for industry, tourism, and trade. He helped to create the Community Relations program within Atlanta Gas Light where he was responsible for communications management for large infrastructure programs from Atlanta to Macon and Bibb County Georgia.

Currently, Quander works in Governmental and External Affairs helping Atlanta Gas Light and Southern Company Gas establish and cultivate working relationships with locally elected officials, community, and business leaders throughout the state.

Quander is replacing James Tsismanakis, who served as the 2020 Chair of the Board and is now assuming the role of past chair on the Executive Committee.

“I want to thank James Tsismanakis for all of his hard work and dedication to the Board and the Chamber members over the past year during this crisis,” Quander said. “His leadership has been exemplary. As part of the Executive Committee, I truly appreciate everything James has done, especially with the Better Business Loan program and establishing an enhanced partnership with DeKalb County – this can never be understated.”
