Atlanta-based media and video agency, Bread N Butter Content Studio, known for operating Atlanta Eats, one of the most popular media brands in the city, is moving its offices to The Works, announced developer Selig Enterprises. The content agency will relocate from Buckhead to a 6,160-square-foot space at 500 Chattahoochee Row by Q4 2022. Bread N Butter’s relocation to the newly delivered adaptive reuse office buildings brings the total office space within Phase One at The Works to over 75% leased, cementing the Upper Westside as a competitive office market in Atlanta.
Founded in 2012 by longtime Atlanta TV and radio personality Steak Shapiro, Bread N Butter Content Studio operates numerous brands, including Atlanta Eats, the rapidly growing restaurant social media agency, “Order Up,” as well as the digital publisher brand, “American Eats,” which highlights cities with strong culinary scenes across the country.
Shapiro said of the relocation, “We are building one of the most exciting content companies in the Southeast and need a headquarters that matches the energy and creativity of our employees and those we are trying to recruit. We could not imagine a better spot than The Works. Our presence at The Works was a dream of mine and my late friend Scott Selig when he first told me of his plans for the Upper Westside, making this move that much more meaningful.”
Bread N Butter’s new office space will feature flex workspace for employee collaboration and content capturing, 10 editorial video suites, a dynamic video viewing room and a 500-square-foot covered patio. The team plans to utilize the property and its unique spaces to serve as the backdrop for the brand’s on-air segments.
“Steak has been a longtime extension of our family, so it only makes sense that he brings his award-winning media company to The Works, my son’s legacy project,” said Steve Selig, President and Chairman of the Board at Selig Enterprises. “The passion and the superior level of content Bread N Butter and Atlanta Eats brings to the table truly embodies the spirit of The Works. I’m thrilled to welcome Steak and his team to the property.”
The newly completed 500 Chattahoochee Row, a 70,000-square-foot adaptive reuse office building, was designed by Square Feet Studios and constructed by Dakota Contractors. As part of the renovation, the original 1950s era warehouse was preserved and transformed into creative office space and features a unique sculptural element at the entrance. This year, anchor tenant MacDermid Graphic Solutions, an Atlanta-based flexographic and printing solutions company, relocated to the building, occupying 45,000 square feet, home to its Flexo Xperience Center.
500 Chattahoochee Row is the second office building at The Works. Other office tenants on property, include Uppercut, a post-production company based in New York City; Conisus, a provider of strategic medical communication services to the biopharmaceutical industry; and iHeart Media a leading global media and entertainment company specializing in radio, digital, mobile, social, live events and on-demand entertainment, which together occupy the entire 1255 Makers Way, the site’s existing adaptive reuse office building.
The Works is also home to multiple retailers and restaurants, including Chattahoochee Food Works, a 31-stall food hall, Fox Bros Bar-B-Q, Dr. Scofflaw’s, American Axes, Ballard Designs, Les Mains Nail Bar, Adelina Social Goods, Stellar Bodies, Tinte Salon, BOBO Intriguing Objects, Happy Mango, and Basik Spaces along with office tenants iHeart Media, MacDermid Graphic Solutions, Conisus and Uppercut. The Camp, a heavily programmed, one-acre signature park, and the Spur, a 970-foot linear park, are additional highlights. Tenants opening later this year include Your 3rd Spot, Fetch Park ATL, Brash Coffee, The Forum Bar and Taste Wine Bar and Market.
