The Council for Quality Growth, in partnership with the Douglas County Chamber and Douglas County Government, will host the 2023 State of Douglas County Address on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM at the Douglasville Conference Center. The lunch will feature remarks from county leadership including County Commission Vice-Chair Tarenia Carthan and President of the Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership, Chris Pumphrey. The 2023 State of Douglas is presented by AtlasTechnical Consultants. Over 200 Council and Chamber members, elected officials, businesses, residents, county staff, and partners of Douglas County are expected to attend on Wednesday.

The Council’s State of Douglas County annually convenes the county’s business community with its local government bodies, as well as with other local leaders from across the region. Vice-Chair Carthan and Chris Pumphrey will address the county’s recent economic development successes, including the highly anticipated Lionsgate Film Studio, which was recently announced as the anchor to a large mixed-used development Douglas County, The Trails. The county is hopeful that this new kind of development will provide some momentum for their ongoing efforts to attract higher scale investments in the community. The State of Douglas program will also present achievements from the last year, as well as an outlook for what else is ahead in 2023.

The Council for Quality Growth works with Douglas County and its local municipalities year-round to advocate for our members doing business in those areas. “We are proud to partner with Douglas County as they continue to make investments that support such high-quality development,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO of the Council, “and we look forward, each year, to hearing what promising economic future lies ahead.”

The State of Douglas will also feature remarks from Sara Ray, President & CEO of the Douglas County Chamber, and Katherine Zitsch, Director of the ARC’s Metro North Georgia Water Planning District.
