Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is thrilled to announce the commencement of the ATL Summer Youth Employment Program 2024 (SYEP24) running from June 6 – July 19. Entering its fourth year, this program has successfully engaged 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students from across the metro Atlanta area. This year’s theme is "Navigating Pathways to Aviation Excellence."

The ATL SYEP24 program is a unique, paid opportunity that involves over 30 business disciplines within the Department of Aviation for 85 young participants, known as "Aviators." These students will engage in a range of professional development sessions, learning important skills such as workplace essentials and financial literacy.

“We are deeply committed to investing in the future workforce by providing these young leaders with the skills and experiences they need to succeed,” said ATL General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari. “The ATL SYEP24 program directly aligns with our strategic pillar “People,” furthering our dedication in making a positive impact on our community.”

In addition to the development sessions, participants will have the unique opportunity to explore the behind-the-scenes operations of the world’s busiest airport. These tours will provide valuable insights into the aviation industry.

Each Aviator will be assigned specific tasks and deliverables, allowing them to gain practical, hands-on experience. They will be guided by a group captain, a youth professional dedicated to their development and supervised by a Department of Aviation subject matter expert to ensure they receive essential advice and support throughout the program.

ATL is proud to support these young leaders and is excited to see the positive impact the ATL SYEP24 program will have on the participants and the community as a whole.
