Hartsfield-Jackson Prepares for Labor Day Travel 2.3 Million Passengers Expected to Travel Through ATL
Friday, August 30th, 2024
As the nation prepares for Labor Day weekend, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials and partners provide tips and reminders for passengers traveling through ATL for the holiday weekend. More than 2.3 million passengers are expected to travel through Hartsfield-Jackson beginning Wednesday, Aug. 28, to Wednesday, Sept. 4. Airport projections indicate Friday, Aug. 30, as the busiest day, with more than 349,000 passengers expected in ATL.
“Our anticipated passenger volume indicates a busy weekend ahead,” said interim ATL General Manager Jan Lennon. “We continue to work 24/7 with our valued partners for a continued successful travel season.”
During high-volume periods, we suggest passengers arrive at the Airport at least two hours before scheduled departure. Airport officials also encourage all passengers to thoroughly inspect their luggage and belongings before arriving at the Airport to ensure they are not bringing any prohibited items through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint. As a reminder, all firearms and ammunition must be appropriately packaged and placed in checked bags only. To remain compliant with TSA regulations, visit the “What Can I Bring?” page on TSA.gov for more detailed information.
The Airport’s website (ATL.com) provides real-time updates on parking availability, security wait times, and concessionaire offerings. The Airport’s social media channels (@ATLairport) are also valuable resources for visitors. Passengers are also urged to monitor their specific airlines' websites and social media channels.
