Wellspring Living Breaks Ground on South Fulton Campus
Monday, September 23rd, 2024
Wellspring Living is proud to announce the groundbreaking for its much-anticipated enhanced campus, a vital step forward in the organization's mission to provide domestic sex trafficking victims and those at risk with transformative care. The intimate ceremony took place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the future site of the expanded campus. Corporate partners and key supporters were invited to join this momentous occasion that laid the foundation for a brighter future for survivors.
Since 2001, Wellspring Living has provided domestic sex trafficking victims and those at risk with comprehensive, trauma-informed, victim-centered recovery services through residential programs, community-based programs, and post-program support. This special community, spanning 10 acres, will serve as a hub where survivors can access survivor-centered housing, healing, and education services for children and adults. Notably, services will include a long-term residential program for youth of all genders who have been sexually exploited- the first of its kind in Georgia. The new campus will also act as a learning center for anti-trafficking organizations within Georgia and nationwide, greatly expanding the reach and depth of services available to survivors.
"Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Wellspring Living," said Christian Murphy, Wellspring Living's Chief Executive Officer. "This campus will be a cornerstone of hope, a place where survivors can find the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. We are deeply grateful to our partners, donors, and community members who have made this vision a reality."
The groundbreaking ceremony included remarks from Mary Frances Bowley, founder of Wellspring Living, Allison Ausband of Delta Air Lines, the Welcome Home Campaign Honorary Chair, Lamar Wakefield of Nelson Worldwide, Campaign Co-Chair, and Cathy Scott of UPS. A ceremonial turning of the soil and a reception with light refreshments followed, closing the event.
