“Affordable Housing Week 2024” Observance Focuses on Developer Education

Mayor Andre Dickens and the Department of City Planning will host “Affordable Housing Week” with three days of programming from Monday, October 28 through Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Atlanta City Hall.
Planned presentations will highlight Developer Engagement with the NPUs, Workforce Housing Program Compliance, Site Development & Environmental Compliance, Zoning Process & Strategies, Developer Best Practices & Lessons Learned, and Housing Choice Voucher Program, Landlord & Tenant Benefits.
The second chapter of “Affordable Housing Week 2024” will again touch on Welcome H.O.M.E., the permitting process for affordable housing projects in the City of Atlanta. The new fall line-up also will focus on the various aspects of the affordable housing lifecycle.
The event will culminate with an address from Mayor Dickens on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The events will be held at Atlanta City Hall, located at 55 Trinity Ave. SW, Atlanta, GA, 30303.
Mayor Dickens set a goal of 20,000 affordable housing units over 8 years. As of last month, roughly 6,000 units have been completed while approximately 4,000 units are in the pipeline under construction. The total number represents 10,000 units toward the goal.
