Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC) announced the launch of a public capital campaign to support construction of its new House adjacent to the recently opened Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital. Following a topping-out ceremony in August, the new House will address the growing need for ARMHC’s services, increasing access to life-saving medical treatment for sick and injured children. The nonprofit organization has already raised $77.8 million of its $90 million goal, with $12.2 million needed to complete the project.

ARMHC operates near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. The new House will provide an expanded campus to support the exponential number of families who rely on ARMHC’s accommodations. In 2023, the organization served more than 3,000 families, saving them $8.4 million in lodging, food and transportation costs, while providing over 25,000 nights of rest, representing a 45% increase from previous years. This year, the nonprofit has experienced a monumental 77% increase in the number of nights families have stayed in its Houses since 2022.

“With Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital now open, the new House will be vital to providing additional accommodations, comfort, care and community to families while their children undergo treatment,” said Chris Marinac, chair of the new House development committee, board member and former chair of ARMHC. “Every contribution makes a significant impact, and we are calling on Atlantans to join us in our fundraising efforts to keep families together, ensure access to care and provide hope during an extremely challenging time.”

Scheduled to open in December 2025, the new House will provide 110 guest rooms, including 18 dedicated transplant suites, doubling the capacity of ARMHC’s Egleston location. The facility will also include multiple dining areas, a community gathering floor, an interactive discovery garden, a five-story indoor playscape and more.

Contingent upon securing the remaining $12.2 million, a Friend of ARMHC issued a challenge grant of $750,000 to boost funding for the project.
