Christian City is proud to announce that Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Georgia Power and Goodwill of North Georgia will be honored at its upcoming Community Champion Awards, which will take place this May. These distinguished recipients have been recognized for their outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the Atlanta community. This marks a banner year for Christian City, as the local nonprofit celebrates 60 years of providing housing, healthcare, crisis intervention and community to children, young adults and seniors across its 500-acre campus.
Since 2019, the Community Champion Awards has celebrated exceptional individuals, nonprofit organizations and corporations that have made a lasting impact on the metro Atlanta area through their exceptional leadership and devotion to the Atlanta community. Christian City will recognize each of the 2025 honorees at the Community Champion Awards Gala held on Thursday, May 1 starting at 5:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy dinner, entertainment and a program at Georgia Aquarium.
"Each of our honorees exemplifies the values that Christian City seeks to uphold. Mayor Dickens embodies the spirit of exceptional public service and has worked tirelessly to create a safer, more equitable Atlanta for all," said Keith Horton, CEO of Christian City. "Georgia Power has consistently demonstrated corporate leadership by investing in sustainability, economic growth and community development, while Goodwill of North Georgia continues to transform lives through job training and employment opportunities."
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Christian City’s five programs that provide vital services to children and families in crisis. The Community Champion Awards wouldn’t be possible without the host committee and its chairs, Serena Levy and David Yates. Past award honorees include Marty Kemp, Bill Rogers, Jr., Egbert Perry, Dan Cathy, Stephanie Blank, Junior League of Atlanta, Peach Bowl, Inc., Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Westside Future Fund, Jackson Healthcare, Atlanta Braves, Norfolk Southern Company, The Home Depot and Delta Airlines.
