Chairwoman Dr. Alieka Anderson-Henry to Deliver First State of Clayton County Address

The Council for Quality Growth, in partnership with Clayton County Government, will host the 2025 State of Clayton County Address on March 19, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Georgia International Convention Center. The lunch program, presented by the Georgia International Convention Center and Geosam Capital Group, will feature the first address from the new Chairwoman of Clayton County’s Board of Commissioners, Dr. Alieka Anderson-Henry. Over 450 Council and Chamber members, elected officials, businesses, residents, county staff, and partners of Clayton County are expected to attend to hear the Chairwoman’s address.

 Chairwoman Dr. Alieka Anderson-Henry was sworn in as Chairwoman of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners on January 3, 2025, serving as the first African-American female to chair the commission. Prior to taking on this role, she served as District 1 Commissioner for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners as well as the Clayton County Board of Education District 8. 

The Council’s State of Clayton County annually convenes the county’s business community with its local government bodies, as well as with other local leaders from across the region. Chairwoman Anderson-Henry will address her community to present the county’s achievements and projects from the past year, as well as give an outlook for what’s ahead in 2025 and beyond. 

The Council for Quality Growth works with Clayton County and its local municipalities year-round to advocate for our members doing business in those areas. “The Council commends the work Clayton County is doing daily advance economic expansion through increased jobs and access to transit,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO of the Council for Quality Growth. “We look forward working alongside the county and Chairwoman Anderson-Henry this year.” 

The State of Clayton will also feature remarks from Clyde Higgs, the current Chairman of the Council for Quality Growth Board of Directors and President & CEO of the Atlanta Beltline, Inc, Danny Johnson, Director of Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, Patrick Brooks, presenting sponsor and Vice resident of Geosam Capital Group.
