One of America’s foremost journalists, authors, and entertainers, Hoda Kotb will speak at this year’s Atlanta Women's Foundation (AWF) “Numbers Too Big To Ignore” Luncheon.
Kotb, often recognized as the former co-anchor of NBC News’ TODAY, is a fierce advocate for women’s health and a renowned broadcast journalist in the realm of human interest stories both domestically and abroad. Throughout her distinguished career, Kotb has been a powerful voice for women, using her platform to inspire others through her personal story as a breast cancer survivor. Her openness and courage have helped reduce stigma, empower women to prioritize their health, and create greater visibility for the importance of women’s physical and emotional well-being.
Kotb’s dedication to bringing women’s stories to light extends beyond the anchor desk. Whether reporting from war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan or covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she has consistently given a voice to women facing extraordinary challenges. Her heartfelt storytelling on NBC’s Today and her popular podcast Making Space with Hoda Kotb allow her to consistently highlight stories of overcoming adversity, focusing on themes of strength, healing, and self-discovery.
In October 2021, Hoda Kotb was honored with the prestigious Matrix Award by New York Women in Communications, recognizing her exceptional contributions to the field. This accolade celebrates outstanding female leaders in communications, and Kotb's inclusion underscores her impactful storytelling and dedication to amplifying women's voices. Meanwhile, Kotb’s Dateline NBC report The Education of Ms. Groves earned her a Peabody Award in 2006. The report took a closer look at the barriers faced by young women striving for a better future through the lens of a first-time teacher.
In addition to her work on-screen, Kotb has written eight bestselling books, including Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer and Kathie Lee and Hope is a Rainbow.
