More Than Half of 55,000 Spots Filled for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, Registration Ends April 30th
Thursday, April 10th, 2025
Registration for the 56th Running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race is underway, and with just over a week since opening, more than 30,000 runners have already registered for Atlanta’s most celebrated Fourth of July tradition.
With only 55,000 total entries available and registration numbers already outpacing previous years, race organizers anticipate reaching capacity well before the April 30 deadline. Those hoping to be a part of the world’s largest 10K are encouraged to become an Atlanta Track Club member to guarantee their spot. Non-members must enter the lottery for a chance to participate, with no guaranteed entry.
“The Peachtree is a rite of passage for Atlanta every summer,” said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club and race director of the Peachtree. “The excitement we’re seeing in this early wave of registrations confirms how much this tradition continues to mean to the community. But it also means that spots are going quickly. If you plan to join us at the start line on July 4, now is the time to register.”
Registration is only available to the public through April 30. Atlanta Track Club members receive guaranteed entry at the lowest price of $55 and preferred start wave placement A-M. Non-members must enter the lottery for a chance to participate at $65, with all lottery entrants having an equal chance of selection. Lottery results will be announced the week of May 5. Runners may also bypass the lottery by registering for the Peachtree with a Purpose: Kilometer Kids Charity Waves, which offer guaranteed entry in early start waves in exchange for a charitable donation supporting Atlanta Track Club’s free youth running program. Registration for the charity waves will be available after the April 30 deadline.
As excitement for the race builds, volunteer registration officially opens today, Wednesday, April 10, offering more than 3,000 opportunities, including race participant-friendly positions, to support the Peachtree experience across race weekend events.
Volunteers are needed for roles including:
- Greeters and race number pickup at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo presented by Publix
- On-course support and medal distribution for the Chick-fil-A Peachtree Junior
- Hydration station assistance, finish line services
- Race participant-friendly roles, including pre-race and post-race shifts that allow runners to volunteer and take part in the event
“An event of this scale simply couldn’t happen without the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of thousands of volunteers,” said Kenah. “Being a Peachtree volunteer is an incredible way to participate in this city-wide celebration and help bring the race to life.”
In appreciation of their time, all Peachtree volunteers will receive:
- A The Home Depot apron
- A Chick-fil-A meal voucher
- A commemorative adidas volunteer T-shirt
- Complimentary snacks and water during their shift
- Access to exclusive merchandise discounts at atlantatrackclub.org (up to 40% off)
- The opportunity to participate in the AJC Peachtree Road Race Sign Contest
Volunteer merchandise discounts are tiered based on sign-up date:

- April 13 – April 26: 30% off
- April 27 – May 18: 20% off

Race day festivities culminate with a new post-race celebration in Piedmont Park’s Meadow, including SweetWater Brewing beer gardens, music and more.
