The Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and Atlanta Partners for Education (APFE), the foundation for APS, is participating in the Georgia Foundation for Public Education PEACH Education Tax Credit program to raise funds for three innovative APS programs totaling $750,000:
The Store at The APS Student and Family Support Hub ($250,000)
The Store at the APS Student and Family Support Hub provides free household goods, personal hygiene items, and clothing to students and families across the City of Atlanta.
Atlanta College and Career Academy – Graduating All Scholars Ready for College, Career, and Life! ($250,000)
The Atlanta College and Career Academy (ACCA) aims to graduate students equipped with industry-recognized credentials and certifications aligned to in-demand careers in Metro Atlanta. This project addresses the critical need for high school graduates to enter the workforce with competitive skills in fields such as Cybersecurity, C++ Programming, Automotive, Technology, Carpentry, and Infant/Toddler Childcare.
STEM iBlocks ($250,000)
APS will implement a K-12 vertical project-based learning program that aligns to the APS and GADOE STEM/CTAE pathways and involves community building, sustainability, urban planning, and engaging students in a real-world project to improve their local neighborhood.
Georgia’s PEACH Education Tax Credit for schools offers assurance to our APS families and community stakeholders that your PEACH Education Tax Credit contributions will help advance public education in our community. The funds our community raises – all at dollar-for-dollar tax credit for you, the donor – will go directly to our APS’ projects.
“Atlanta Public Schools is committed to providing our students with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive—from basic necessities to advanced career pathways,” said Dr. Bryan Johnson, Superintendent of APS. “Through the PEACH Education Tax Credit, our community can directly invest in programs that meet students’ real needs and fuel their future success. We’re proud to partner with Atlanta Partners for Education and the Georgia Foundation for Public Education to bring this vision to life. These three projects—The Store at the APS Hub, Atlanta College and Career Academy, and STEM iBlocks—represent the kind of bold, student-centered innovation that will move our district forward.”
The Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE) exists to support educational excellence for students in Georgia. GFPE provides simple ways for donors to serve students in Georgia's K-12 public school system impactfully by investing in projects and fostering relationships with donors – all to fund GFPE's vision of public school excellence. GFPE collaborations create a better future for the 1.7 million students in Georgia's public schools, including those in APS.
"The Georgia Foundation for Public Education is dedicated to strengthening our state’s K-12 public education system,” GFPE Executive Director Paige Buzbee Pushkin said. “We are thrilled to partner with Atlanta Public Schools and Atlanta Partners for Education to raise funds through the PEACH Education Tax Credit program to impact innovation and public education in the city of Atlanta directly – local money helping local students is a win for everyone."
