ATL Prepares for Busy Labor Day Weekend
Thursday, August 28th, 2025
Labor Day weekend is just around the corner, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is gearing up for one of its busiest travel periods of the year. Between Wednesday, Aug. 27, and Wednesday, Sept. 3, more than 2.3 million passengers are expected to pass through the Airport. The peak travel day? Saturday, Aug. 30, when nearly 325,000 people are projected to make their way through ATL.
For those heading out this holiday weekend, keep these tips in mind:
-
Arrive early: Passengers should plan to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure to domestic destinations. Allow for three hours for international travel.
-
Pack carefully: Inspect all luggage before arriving at the Airport. Firearms and ammunition must be unloaded, properly secured, and placed in checked baggage only. For detailed guidance, passengers are encouraged to visit TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” page at TSA.gov.
-
Stay informed: Real-time updates on parking availability, security wait times, and concessions are available at ATL.com. Travelers may also follow ATL’s social media channels (@ATLairport) for updates.
-
Check with airlines: For flight-specific details, passengers should monitor their airline’s website and social media channels.
