Officials of the 763-room Courtland Grand Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham announced the completion of a multi-million, property-wide renovation. The hotel, operated by HEI Hotel & Resorts, a leading hospitality investment and management company, underwent a full refurbishment to transform all public and guest spaces. Additionally, a new, in-house culinary team was announced to enhance the hotel’s gustatory experience.

“From our refinished lobby to our updated restaurant to improved guest rooms, the renovation truly transformed the Courtland Grand Hotel into a stunning oasis in downtown Atlanta, one that will appeal to discerning group, business and leisure travelers alike,” said Marilyn Yelle, director of sales and marketing. “Furthermore, we have added the culinary talents of Chef Reginald Shankle, a southern cuisine visionary. Again and again, our guests told us they were looking for a unique experience beyond the confines of a traditional, ‘big box’ hotel, and we believe these improvements will exceed expectations.

The comprehensive renovation touched on all aspects of the hotel. New carpeting was installed throughout the entire property, including the lobby, restaurant, meeting space and guest rooms. Additionally, all hard goods were refinished with new laminates, and hallways and other public spaces were painted in engaging shades of off-white, black and gray. Guest rooms received new upgraded linen packages, guest comfort technology and bed wraps, while some rooms also added new mattresses and box springs.

The hotel restaurant, Fandangle’s, was completely overhauled to accommodate the new culinary team, led by Chef Shankle. Fandangle’s offers Southern comfort food, American cuisine and international dishes. Most recently serving as executive chef and partner at Culinary Culture Hub, Shankle held similar roles at the Marriott Norcross, Hilton Norcross and Crowne Plaza Macon. “We already have started conversations with regional growers to begin preparing our upcoming seasonal menu, and I am excited to bring delicious, locally sourced, farm-to-table goodness to guests and locals alike who will appreciate a true taste of Atlanta,” Shankle added.

Situated at 165 Courtland St. NE in Atlanta, the hotel is convenient to State Farm Arena, Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes Benz Stadium and Centennial Olympic Park. Guest room amenities include large floor-to-ceiling windows, ample natural light and complimentary WiFi. The hotel also provides a 24/7 fitness center, indoor heated pool and nearly 100,000 square feet of event space, including a 15,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom and more than 55 meeting rooms, capable of accommodating 5 to 1,200 banquet guests.
