Major Grant Award Positions WorkSource Fulton to Expand Training
Tuesday, November 4th, 2025
As part of a regional workforce initiative, WorkSource Fulton has been awarded the Strategic Alliances for Equity in the Workforce (SAEF) Grant through a collaborative effort with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), WorkSource DeKalb, and the City of Atlanta. The SAEF Grant supports implementation efforts that address systemic barriers, expand access to training, and empower historically underserved populations with meaningful employment pathways.
The ARC as administrator of the SAEF Grant, provides critical leadership that equips regional partners with the resources and guidance needed to drive sustainable economic growth across Fulton County and the metro area. The grant funds will play a pivotal role in helping WorkSource Fulton enhance its training initiatives and strengthen its business services support.
“This grant affirms our shared vision to develop an inclusive and responsive workforce ecosystem across Fulton County,” says Lucius McRunnels, Business Services Manager, WorkSource Fulton. “With this investment, we can help more residents access industry-recognized credentials, connect with high-demand careers, and help employers find the talent they need to grow.”
Planning is already underway for Q4 2025 implementation, which will focus on optimizing trainee support, leveraging both SAEF and formula funds, and collaborating on regional outreach campaigns. Contract documents are expected shortly, but partners are already aligning resources and marketing strategies to launch impactful initiatives by year’s end.
“This is a major win for the region and for Fulton County,” says Samir Abdullahi, Director, Select Fulton. “By leveraging regional partnerships and targeted investments like the SAEF Grant, we’re closing equity gaps, aligning workforce training with economic development, and helping communities be successful.”
