The Stitch Advances with Formation of Stitch, Inc. & Inaugural Board of Directors
Thursday, January 29th, 2026
The Stitch project has reached a pivotal milestone with the official formation of Atlanta Downtown Stitch, Inc. and the appointment of its inaugural Board of Directors, advancing plans to create a vibrant new park-centered neighborhood between Midtown and Downtown Atlanta.
Stitch, Inc. is the nonprofit entity established to advance the project from vision to reality. With the appointment of its inaugural Board of Directors, the organization now has the leadership in place to oversee construction and steward the project into its next chapter as a thriving public destination.
As part of this shift, Jack Cebe transitions from The Stitch Project Director as part of Atlanta Downtown Improvement District to leading Stitch, Inc. as CEO and President, ensuring continuity while sharpening focus on strategy, execution and long-term stewardship.
“To echo Mayor Andre Dickens, The Stitch is a group project that requires community collaboration for its success,” said Jack Cebe, CEO and President of Stitch, Inc. “I’m honored to work with a diverse and accomplished group of Downtown leaders to bring The Stitch to life and ensure it meets the aspirations set forth in The Stitch Master Plan.”

“For decades, the area between Midtown and Downtown functioned as a barrier, disconnecting neighborhoods and limiting Downtown’s potential as the city grew around it,” said John McColl, Stitch, Inc. Board member and Executive Vice President, Cousins Properties, who was engaged in the original project concept dating back to 1997. “What began as an idea in the nineties is now an emerging reality as The Stitch will become the quilt of our city, stitching it back together and reshaping how Atlanta connects and moves.”
The Stitch is anticipated to generate more than $9 billion in economic value to strengthen Georgia’s tax base and bring 4,500 jobs to the city. It will improve access to housing, low cost transportation, jobs and community resources needed to support a thriving residential population.
In 2026, the community will begin to see programming come to life around the future site of The Stitch, as the project reaches shovel-ready status by mid-year, with more to come under Jack Cebe’s and the new Board’s leadership.
