Friday, July 10th, 2026
It will soon be easier and more secure for international flights to land at Fulton County Executive Airport with the construction of a new Customs Facility.
On Thursday, July 9 at 10 a.m., officials broke ground for the new facility. Fulton County received $2.8 million in federal and state funds for this project.
Currently, customs agents must travel from Hartsfield Jackson International Airport to meet any inbound international flights. With the new facility, the customs process will be seamless for business flights coming in to Fulton County.
Fulton County Executive Airport is the third-busiest airport in Georgia, with a 24/7 tower and more than 80,000 flight operations in 2025. FTY is served by two fixed base operators (FBOs) and is the base for more than 100 aircraft.
Fulton County’s Executive Airport also plays a unique role in the region’s economic success as metro Atlanta’s corporate aviation hub. Over half of all aircraft based at the executive airport are business jet aircraft, making Fulton’s airport a critical gateway for executives and companies conducting business across the Metro Atlanta region and beyond. The new Customs Facility will help these users move at the speed of business by making international arrivals more seamless, secure, and efficient.
The new Customs Facility is part of a robust expansion plan for FTY that will include additional hangars,
Fulton County has invested in extensive safety improvements, including new taxiway lighting, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) facility and Runway Engineering Material Arresting Systems.
