Atlanta Downtown Stitch, Inc. (Stitch, Inc.) has announced two key additions to its leadership team as the once-in-a-generation park and infrastructure project advances toward shovel-ready status. Caroline Ballard Leake joins as Vice President of Communications and Development, while Lee Harrop will serve as Vice President of Design and Delivery. Their appointments strengthen the organization’s capacity to advance the project’s design, delivery, fundraising and community engagement as it enters its next phase.

Lee Harrop brings a unique blend of experience in real estate, infrastructure and civic initiatives to Stitch, Inc. A recognized Atlanta leader and award-winning professional, he previously helped launch the Atlanta BeltLine, shepherding the project from early planning into design and construction as its first Program Director. In his new role, Harrop will oversee the design and delivery of The Stitch, helping guide the technical infrastructure and development work necessary to move the project from vision to reality.

Caroline Leake joins Stitch, Inc. with extensive experience leading high-profile events, sponsorships and strategic initiatives that bring together public, private and community stakeholders. She previously served as Director of Events and Sponsorships for the Georgia Department of Economic Development and has worked alongside the administrations of Georgia Governors Brian Kemp and Zell Miller. In her new role, she will help strengthen awareness, engagement and support for The Stitch as the project advances.

The additions come at a pivotal time for The Stitch as the project advances toward shovel-ready status in 2027. With growing public and private support, Stitch, Inc. continues to build the team, partnerships and resources necessary to move the project from planning into delivery.

Beginning with Phase One, which includes a 5 acre park over the Downtown Connector and 8 miles of streetscape and transportation improvements connecting the area, the completed project will transform approximately four acres above the Downtown Connector into a public space that connects Downtown Atlanta and surrounding neighborhoods, creating a new cultural center between Midtown and Downtown.
