More Than 400 Gwinnett Leaders Gather to Recognize Governor Brian Kemp’s Leadership and Legacy
Tuesday, August 18th, 2026
More than 400 business and community leaders gathered at The Westin Atlanta Gwinnett for the Gwinnett Chamber Governor’s Luncheon, presented by Jackson EMC. Attendees heard from Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and recognized his leadership and service to the state as he enters the final months of his second term.
“Through strong partnerships with communities like Gwinnett, we’ve created jobs, welcomed historic investment, and kept Georgia the No. 1 state for business," said Governor Brian Kemp. "Together, we've made our state stronger and well-positioned for the future, and Marty and I appreciate the support community and business leaders like you have given us over these last eight years.”
Kemp’s remarks reflected on the successes and partnerships that have defined his tenure, while recognizing the state, local and community leaders who helped advance Georgia’s economy. Since taking office in 2019, Kemp has led the state through a global pandemic, unprecedented national attention and significant economic and public policy challenges while continuing Georgia’s renowned focus on job creation, investment, and a competitive business climate.
Georgia has held its No. 1 state for business ranking throughout Kemp’s tenure, extending the economic development momentum established under former Governor Nathan Deal to a record 12 consecutive years. Among the accomplishments and priorities highlighted were historic economic development and global investment, tax reductions, workforce and education investments, the 2025 tort reform legislation, and Georgia’s continued focus on strengthening its business climate. Kemp also recognized Gwinnett’s role in that success, including the recent $2 billion UCB investment at Rowen — the largest capital investment in Gwinnett County history. He recognized the numerous partners involved including the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Partnership Gwinnett, Gwinnett County Government, the Rowen Foundation, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Power, Georgia Quick Start through Gwinnett Technical College and his own staff. He also credited Gwinnett’s business, government, education, and economic development leaders, along with its strong representation in the Georgia General Assembly, for their partnership throughout his tenure.
“Governor Kemp has led Georgia through an extraordinary eight years while keeping economic opportunity, job creation and our state’s competitiveness at the forefront,” said Nick Masino, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett. “He has been a true champion of business and the free-market economy, and we are grateful for his leadership which has positioned our state and county for continued success.”
The Chamber’s next opportunity for business and community leaders to engage with elected officials will be the Congressional Appreciation Breakfast presented by Gateway85 CID on Tuesday, August 25, at the 1818 Club. The program will host U.S. Representatives Mike Collins, Hank Johnson and Rich McCormick. Registration is available at GwinnettChamber.org/Events.
