Italian Manufacturer to Open First U.S. Facility in Gwinnett County

City of Atlanta Named Newest City in Rockefeller Foundation’s Opportunity Zone Community Capacity Building Initiative

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced Atlanta will become the second city to participate in The Rockefeller Foundation’s Opportunity Zone Community Capacity Building Initiative. The initiative, which launched in May 2019, aims to help U.S. cities attract responsible private investment in economically-distressed communities through Opportunity Zones created in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

U.S. Workers See Undeniable Value in STEM Education and Skills

Randstad US released the U.S. data from the global quarterly Randstad Workmonitor survey for Q2 2019. According to the survey, if U.S. employees could go back in time to age 18, 68 percent say they would focus on a field of study within science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). This sentiment is indicative of the perceived high value of a STEM education and career path over other educational tracks.

Atlanta Sets Jobs Record Again in June

Atlanta, according to preliminary numbers, added employed residents, labor force and jobs. Unemployment claims also fell in June across the 29-county metropolitan statistical area (MSA).
