Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. announced the development of a new 91-unit, senior housing facility located on the Westside Trail. Through a $500,000 BeltLine Affordable Housing Trust Fund loan from Invest Atlanta to The Woda Group, Inc. and Parallel Housing, Inc., this investment will help fund affordable housing projects in the Adair Park Historic District.

AT&T & Atlanta-based CitySwitch Sign Deal for Building, Leasing New Cell Towers Beginning in 2018

AT&T and CitySwitch signed an agreement for building new cell towers to-suit based on future wireless network needs. CitySwitch will begin tower construction plans as early as the second half of 2018 and will lease completed sites to AT&T.

SOS Brian Kemp Announces Commission Members to Review Georgia's Next Voting System

Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced his list of appointees to the Secure, Accessible & Fair Elections Commission, which is tasked with studying options for Georgia’s next voting system. The SAFE Commission will conduct thorough discussions on all options – including the feasibility of using all hand-marked paper ballots to all electronic machines with a voter-verified paper trail – and travel the state to solicit feedback from stakeholders.

“A cup of coffee” is a baseball idiom used to describe a brief opportunity of time spent by a minor league player in the major leagues before being summarily sent down again. On a college level, Mercer University student, Shane Buerster, experienced that expression when cut from the school baseball team in his sophomore season, even though he had been a very good player throughout high school. Shane went one step further, however, and took the time to actually smell the coffee.
