Mayor Kasim Reed and Governor Nathan Deal joined Accenture Senior Managing Director Jimmy Etheredge to announce the company’s plans to open an Innovation Hub in Atlanta in 2018, more than doubling its footprint in Midtown’s Technology Square. The Hub will be a destination where Accenture people and clients can work side-by-side to ideate, rapidly prototype and launch solutions that meet the demands of today’s fast-changing digital world.

GDOT Explores Statewide Broadband and Wireless Expansion

Equifax Announces Cybersecurity Hack Impacting 143M People

Equifax Inc. announced a cybersecurity incident potentially impacting approximately 143 million U.S. consumers. Criminals exploited a U.S. website application vulnerability to gain access to certain files. Based on the company's investigation, the unauthorized access occurred from mid-May through July 2017. The company has found no evidence of unauthorized activity on Equifax's core consumer or commercial credit reporting databases.

MARTA Names Elizabeth O’Neill as its Interim General Manager and CEO

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has named Elizabeth O’Neill as its Interim General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve O’Neill, a 22-year MARTA veteran who currently serves as Chief Legal Counsel, who will succeed Keith T. Parker.

Governor Announces More Than $37.5M in Community Development Awards

Gov. Nathan Deal announced that 59 Georgia communities will receive a total of $37.55 million in federal assistance to help grow their local economies.
