Georgia Power Celebrates Opening of New At-Promise Youth Center in Partnership with Atlanta Police Foundation

Leaders from Georgia Power on Tuesday joined the Atlanta Police Foundation, the Atlanta Police Department and Mayor Kasim Reed to celebrate the opening of Atlanta's new At-Promise Youth Center on Atlanta's Westside. Georgia Power donated $500,000 toward the construction of the new facility as part its commitment to improving the communities in which it operates, as well as enhancing education in Georgia.

Metro Atlanta’s Unemployment Rate Rises to 4.9% in June

The Georgia Department of Labor announced today that Metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate in June was 4.9 percent, up four-tenths of a percentage point from 4.5 percent in May. In June 2016, the rate was 5.3 percent.

The City of Atlanta, Fulton County, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta are pleased to release findings that prove the nonprofit arts and culture industry is a big business in the Metro Atlanta region. According to the latest Arts and Economic Prosperity 5 study, the nonprofit arts and culture industry annually generates more than half a billion in economic activity, nearly 20,000 full-time equivalent jobs and $56 million in local and state tax revenues.
