55th Annual Event Brings Business Prospects to Georgia

The 2014 Georgia Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Tour kicked off Wednesday, and runs through Saturday, April 12. 32 site location consultants, each of whom work with multiple clients who are planning to locate or expand from throughout the nation and the world are participating in this year’s tour, which will visit the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta, The Masters golf tournament in Augusta and the historic squares in Savannah.
Each year, the Tour highlights the beauty, hospitality and business friendly economic environment Georgia has to offer. Guests are accompanied by a host committee of business leaders in order to learn first-hand the advantages of locating in the state.
“One of the Georgia’s premier economic development events, the Red Carpet Tour showcases not only our state, but the public-private partnerships that have grown our economy,” said Georgia Chamber president and CEO Chris Clark. “The Tour has created more than $3 billion in revenue and over 15,000 jobs in Georgia.”
“We look forward to sharing Georgia’s numerous advantages with our guests on the Tour this year,” said Kirby Thompson, Senior Vice President at SunTrust Bank and chair of the 2014 Red Carpet Tour. “This four day event will provide the opportunity for guests to see three thriving Georgia cities, meet some of our state’s top leaders, and hear directly from Georgia business leaders about why they chose to live and work in this great state.”
The 2014 Red Carpet Tour is conducted in partnership with the Georgia Allies, the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Savannah Economic Development Authority.
