Dr. Ayanna Howard has a heart for people with motor limitations, particularly children with disabilities. So when a National Science Foundation grant led to development of an input device that would allow kids with disabilities to operate tablet computers, she wanted to commercialize the technology to get it into the hands of the children. Dr. Howard founded Zyrobotics to commercialize this device, and a suite of innovative products, to help disabled children do what all kids want to do: play video games and interact with computers.

"The demand for assistive technology among people with motor limitations continues to grow significantly and is much bigger than we originally imagined," said Dr. Ayanna Howard, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Zyrobotics. "Our technologies provide access to play opportunities for children in particular, which is so important for their social, cognitive and physical development goals, as well as extending to adults with disabilities including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and stroke.”
