Thursday, April 3rd, 2014

TAG Education Collaborative, the Technology Association of Georgia’s charitable organization dedicated to preparing the next-generation workforce, is proud to announce that over 530,000 students and educators are participating in a statewide celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education on May 9, 2014, and registration continues to grow.

TAG-Ed is collaborating with the Georgia Department of Education and over 40 Georgia education institutions, associations, and STEM-based companies to support the second annual Georgia STEM Day. An official proclamation declaring May 9 as STEM Day for the state of Georgia has been signed by Governor Deal.

STEM Day is a statewide opportunity for schools, students, teachers, and companies to raise awareness, celebrate and engage in innovative, hands-on activities involving STEM in order to help students make the critical connection between the classroom and future career opportunities.

“TAG-Ed and our corporate and community partners are thrilled to see the impact that STEM Day is having this year,” said Michael Robertson, executive director of TAG Education Collaborative.  “Through the registration on our website, we are delighted to see schools planning activities ranging from aquaponics and bridge building to week long STEM festivals and career fairs.”
