Braves Release New Renderings of Cobb County Stadium
Thursday, May 15th, 2014
The Atlanta Braves on Wednesday offered a new peek at plans for the proposed $672 million ballpark and mixed-use development in Cobb County.
Though subject to change, renderings reveal the Braves plan a stadium with 41,500 seats, most of which will be closer to the field than any other Major League Baseball stadium. Current home Turner Field has 50,096 seats and the team often struggles to sell out games.
Each level of the new stadium will be air-conditioned and the roof overhangs will be 90 feet higher than at Turner Field.
The development will feature a one-acre water feature near the stadium with fountains that will perform after Braves home runs. A grand plaza will have restaurants, shops and a hotel.
