The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, today announced that Georgia State Senator Butch Miller (R-Gainesville) has been awarded with the 2014 Technology Legislator of the Year Award. The award is given annually to lawmakers who demonstrate support and understanding of Georgia’s technology issues and industry.
“TAG is appreciative of Senator Miller’s efforts to advance technology throughout the state of Georgia. The passage of the Mobile BILD Act officially streamlines and standardizes aspects of local review of wireless facilities. We believe the new process will give Georgia communities improved access to mobile support while allowing mobile companies a process to enhance wireless capabilities within these communities,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG.
“As we continue to move toward a modernized, technologically advanced work force, it is important that we implement sound public policy that recognizes the growing importance of wireless infrastructure in our economy,” said Sen. Miller. “I would like to thank the Technology Association of Georgia for recognizing my commitment to creating a streamlined regulatory process for any company investing in broadband improvements throughout Georgia.”
The award will be presented to Senator Miller before a crowd of technology leaders and stakeholders at a special gathering on June 17.
