Batson-Cook Construction, a name synonymous with passion and integrity in commercial construction, and sister company Batson-Cook Develoment Company, BCDC, have partnered with Principal Senior Living Group to build more than 275,000 square feet of assisted living and memory care facilities across three states. This family of senior care facilities called Benton Houses has an overall construction value of more than $56,000,000.
Benton Houses are approximately 40,000 square foot, 55-bed memory care facilities built for the growing senior population. Constructed at a cost of between $8,000,000 and $10,000,000 each, they are built with wood frame prefabricated wall panels and trusses. All facilities include full service kitchens, media rooms, home activities areas, interior courtyards, memory care areas, hair salons and offices. Each Benton House is designed in a figure-eight layout, featuring extra wide hallways leading to open courtyards and amenities. All entry and exit points are keypad-protected for the safety of the residents. The buildings are also fully equipped with safety alert systems connecting all residents to emergency services.
“Principal Senior Living Group had the vision and the foresight to design and operate first-class assisted living homes across the country for our growing senior population with a special focus on memory care,” said Randy Hall, President and CEO, Batson-Cook Construction. “They chose us to construct these facilities because our team’s reputation for excellence in healthcare construction. The West Point, Georgia-based general contractor also began a $1.8 million expansion to Benton House of Alpharetta in April. Principal Senior Living Group and Batson-Cook Construction will break ground on four new Benton Houses in 2014. These locations are yet to be announced.
This is an award-winning program and several of the individual Benton Houses have been recognized as best in class by the Georgia chapter of Associated General Contractors of America.
