Highway Trust Fund Bill Promises Short-Term Relief for Georgia

When you can’t fix a sticky problem permanently, put a temporary patch on it.
That’s where Congress appears to be headed with Tuesday’s vote in the House of Representatives to put $10.8 billion toward keeping the federal Highway Trust Fund afloat through next May.
Unless the Senate follows suit – and soon – the financially teetering fund won’t have enough money to cover promised aid to states by early next month.
