President of Junior Achievement of Georgia to Speak at Terry Third Thursday

Jack Harris, president of Junior Achievement of Georgia, will be the featured speaker at the Terry Third Thursday breakfast speaker series on Aug. 21 at the Terry Executive Education Center in Buckhead.

Harris has been with Junior Achievement, an organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy, since 2002.

Terry Third Thursday is a monthly event for the Atlanta business community. Registration for the $30 event is required. Visit terry.uga.edu/ttt to register and for directions.

Harris started with Junior Achievement as the International organization as Director – International Operations, and was promoted to VP-International Operations for JA Worldwide following the merger of Junior Achievement Inc. and Junior Achievement International in 2004. Prior to Junior Achievement, Harris worked with Smith Barney and taught for two years at the Wesleyan School in Norcross. He holds a degree in politics and a certificate in political economy from Princeton University.

Harris was recognized for his work with Junior Achievement as one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 under 40 award recipients in 2009, and serves on the Board of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Emory University Board of Visitors. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, and a 2010 graduate of Leadership Atlanta.
