AT&T Names New VP & GM For Georgia/South Carolina

AT&T announces the appointment of industry veteran Alex Parker as Vice President and General Manager, overseeing operations in Georgia and South Carolina. Parker will oversee the sales and operations for more than 1,300 employees, 82 AT&T-owned retail locations, and more than 650 national retail partners and authorized resellers across both states.
"Alex brings more than two decades of experience and talent to this position, with experience in nearly every aspect of the business, sales, operations, process management and billing," said Kent Mathy, Regional President, AT&T Southeast. "Alex's expertise and successful track record make him a natural choice to lead our operations in the Peach and Palmetto states."
Most recently, Parker served as Vice President, AT&T Global Service Management, where he was responsible for the overall customer service experience across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Canada, Caribbean and Latin America (CCLA) and Asia Pacific (AP).
Prior to that role, he was Vice President of Service Delivery for AT&T Worldwide Customer Service. In this position, he led more than 2,500 employees based in 16 centers across the U.S. and Slovakia to provision local data services for Telecom and Wireless carriers. He joined AT&T full-time in 1993 after completing five summer internships with the company through its partnership with INROADS, Inc., a program created to increase diversity in its management ranks.
Parker, who was born and raised in Decatur, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of International Business Degree from Saint Louis University.
